Position Title: Grants Manager

Status: Permanent, Full- Time, Salaried

Start Date: Immediately, position open until filled

Reports to: Executive Director; works closely with a Development Manager and Assistant and Interns

Salary Range: $51,000+

Days/Hours: Weekdays, generally 40 hours per week, occasional evening work

Qualifications: 

We are seeking candidates who can communicate very well; are highly organized, methodical and; able to balance self-directive and collaborative instincts to accomplish goals and complete projects. Ideal candidates possess: 

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Relevant and successful experience as a grant writer.
  • Experience in researching funding sources. 
  • Experience developing productive relationships with stakeholders in all levels of leadership.
  • Knowledge of NYC philanthropy networks and government funding programs.
  • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key fundraising initiatives concurrently.
  • High level competency with information and communications technology, including Raiser’s Edge/CRM, Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, grant research softwares, social media and websites.
Duties: 
  • Implement the annual plan for foundations, corporate, and government fundraising.
  • Work closely with Development Dept. staff and other CAE departments to develop compelling narrative and support materials to persuasively communicate the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders.
  • Assemble and submit grant requests, including support and background materials, budgets, and presentations.
  • Write reports for government, foundation, individual donors and other funders.
  • Update and track grants calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports.
  • Update quarterly revenue report to ensure accurate reporting and monitoring of annual fundraising goals.
  • Maintain and update information related to online portals for foundations and city, state and federal grant programs and government contracts.
  • Work with other CAE staff and consultants to effectively use the funder database to execute a donor and grant management process to track donations, contact information, and grant applications through all stages of their lifecycle including application, funds distribution, status reporting and renewals.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities that complement and grow CAE’s funding partner portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts and program officers.
  • Prioritize work to meet deadlines and keep multiple projects moving.
  • Work with the Communications Department to ensure external communications accurately reflects current funders.
